Candle Making Business at Home

Operating a Successful Candle Making Business at Home

Making Candles can be great fun. Some people choose to take their love of this art and make money doing what they enjoy spending their time on. There are many areas of the candle making business you need to consider before embarking on such an adventure. Knowing how to make quality candles isn’t enough. You need to educate yourself on ways to promote your candles, ordering supplies, offering customer service, and determining a price for your candles.

We all know candles are a very popular item, so the market for such products is out there. However, that market can’t purchase your candles if they don’t know about it. You will need to establish a plan including where you plan to sell your candles, and then come up with a handle of ways to get attention to them. There are many places to Sell Candles. You can do so from your own home or rent space at craft shows. Often word of mouth will result in orders. You can also choose to advertise on the internet.

Advertising online can be expensive, but it doesn’t have to be. Write about your business on a blog or purchase services from a web hosting company. They often offer excellent tools for setting up a web page and directing traffic to your site. In addition, they provide the shopping cart and even credit card processing for you. Most web hosting companies charge $20 per month, which isn’t a bad investment.

Placing your candles on Ebay or other online auction sites is a great way to generate sales. As you accumulate feedback for selling a quality product you will get more buyers. Before you can do any advertising, you will need to decide what types of candles to sell. You will generate more sells if you show pictures of your work with each type of candle you sell. People buying candles want to visualize the product they are purchasing. Once your business starts turning a profit, consider buying supplies in large quantities to get a discount.

The secret to being a successful candle making business is selling the product at a fair enough price that the consumer will buy it. Yet you also need to cover the cost of your time and supplies, while making a reasonable profit. Don’t be tempted to cut corners on the quality of your supplies as this can greatly alter the quality of your product. Once the word is out that your quality is poor, you will have a hard time maintaining sales.

To generate business, offer promotions. You can offer free shipping for your candle products at the online auction sites to have an advantage over the competition. Many auction surfers will buy a product with free shipping over one with low shipping. You can also offer a free candle with the purchase of three or even to send a personalized card if the buyer is going to use the candle as a gift.

Many successful candle making companies offer personalized service. This means customers can ask for a particular type of candle in a color and you will make it for them. This often costs the customer more, but they are likely willing to pay it. Make sure you communicate well with your customers and know exactly what they want before committing to such a project.

Every business experiences issues that come up. This is to be expected. Customers are likely to be more forgiving of such issues if they are provided with quality customer service. Make sure customers have a way to get into contact with you. Work out a resolution to any issues that you will both be happy with. It is best to outline return policies on your website as well so that there is a place customers can review such information.

Choosing to start your own candle making business at home  is a wonderful and exciting time. Selling your own candles gives you a business where you can be proud of the quality product you are making. Taking the time to learn the basics of the business before jumping in will help ensure this is a fun business venture for you and hopefully one that is going to be quite profitable.

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Prices Candles, founded in 1830, is a United Kingdom manufacturer and retailer of candles. Its full name is Prices Patent Candles Ltd. The firm is headquartered in Bedford and holds the Royal Warrant for the supply of candles. It is now the largest candle manufacturer in the UK. They hold an important place in the technological history of candle making. Prices Candles was founded by William Wilson in 1830, and originally consisted of a candle factory at Vauxhall, London and a crushing mill upstream at Battersea, York Road. Palm trees from West Africa were used for their palm oil, and George Wilson used sulphuric acid to remove the brown colour. Limited dockside facilities at Battersea caused the factory to be moved to Liverpool. In 1840 there were 84 staff, and by 1855, 2,300. By 1900 it was the largest manufacturer of candles in the world. In 1919 the company was bought by Lever Brothers Ltd. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. Paraffin Ear Cone Candles pack of 12 / 9" candles: C

Paraffin Ear Cone Candles pack of 12 / 9" candles: C

$27

Our Beeswax and Parafin candles are made with the highest quality muslin and cotton cloths, along with pure Beeswax and Parafin wax. Our scented ear candles are infused with pure essential oils which will enhance the ear candling experience. Full instructions come with every package to insure the process of cone candling can be done safely and effectively. Ear Oil, containing olive oil, garlic, lobelia, and mullein are powerful immune building and lubricating herbs necessary towards the process of loosening earwax and debris. A 2 oz bottle, for the price of most 1 oz. bottles, can last a family up to a year. Cone candling of one form or another, has been performed since ancient times ranging from Tibet, Egypt, and all the way to North and South America. The first cone candle was made by Tibetans along the Tigris River thousands of years ago. The candle maker dried a reed, placed one side of the hollow cylinder in his ear and ignited the other end. This was the beginning of the art of candling. Soon Tibetans, Egyptians, Mayans and American indians were using cone candles with great results. Today, more people than eer before are using ear cone candles to clean debris from their ears. Ear cone candling is based on Burnelli’’s Law of Airflow, which states that when a hollow cylinder (cone candle) is heated, air will be drawn into the cylinder at an increased rate and forced out of the cylinder with greater force. Thus, any loose material within the cylinder would be forced toward the exit point of the cylinder. Ear cone candling creates a gentle vacuum, painlessly pulling debris from the ear. What to look for in a cone There are hundreds of cone candles to choose from, make in a variety of materials, shapes, and sizes. So how do you choose a quality ear cone? First, look to see if the cone candle is cylindrical. If a cone candles is very large at one end and very small at the other end, it reduces effectiveness. most reputable companies use a cone with a 7/8” end tapering down to 3/8”. Second, look for a cone candle that’’s labeled with clear instructions for how to use it. According to cone candle manufacturers, the art of candling has been used safely for thousands of years; even so, it’’s very important to read and follow directions carefully. Instructions for Use Have all your items close to the person. Find a comfortable place for the person being candled to lie down, making sure all items are easily accessible. Have the person lie on one side with ear opening level. Place the ear cover cloth, or protector, over the area being candled and cover hair and skin as completely as possible. Insert the small end of the candle snugly into the ear, so no vacuum will escape. You must create a seal. Once this has been done, the assistant can light the candle. Help the assistant adjust the candle to where it feels most comfortable, insuring that no air leak is coming from the ear opening. Important:
